Satpara Lake

Satpara Lake sits in the mountains just above Skardu and supplies water and electricity to the town through its dam. The water is a deep blue and the lake is surrounded by bare rocky peaks.

You can take a boat out to the small island or simply enjoy the view from the road. It is a natural stop on the way to Deosai, so many people visit both on the same day.

Early morning is the calmest time for photos. Bring a jacket, as the wind off the water can be cold even in summer.
